Godwin Zimba

Godwin Zimba currently works as a Mining Investment Officer with The Impact Facility (TIF) in Tanzania. In this role, Godwin leads the identification, recruitment, and onboarding of artisanal and small-scale miners in the TIF novel lease-to-purchase programme.

Godwin is no stranger to mining, having spent over 20 years working as a Miner, Supervisor, Production Engineer, Mining Manager and Mining Consultant, where he gained experience in drilling & blasting work, supervising underground miners, managing small-scale mining operations and consulting with artisanal and small-scale miners.

Before joining The Impact Facility, Godwin worked for a diverse range of organisations, including Moolmine Bros ( a South African mining contracting company), Kahama Mining Company Ltd (a subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation), Apex Minerals Pty Ltd ( West Australia), Jourmany Mining ( Mauritania), and ARAL International Co. Ltd.

Godwin specializes in mining consultancies and has successfully served a range of clients including Jourmany mining in Nouakchott, Mauritania & ARAL International Company ltd in Kahama, Tanzania.

Godwin’s varied background in mining has provided the perfect foundation for his current responsibilities: empowering artisanal and small-scale miners to improve their mining and processing methods.
